Meet The Face Behind Adhesive Products Inc.

I’m Paul Shattuck, proud owner of Adhesive Products Inc.

Allow me to introduce myself in the hope you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Adhesive Products Inc. has been around for over a hundred and forty years. We have continued to grow and thrive because we always have focused on our customers. As CEO, I continue to partner and support them through their growth and help find them success.

As owner and CEO, my job is to ensure the financial stability of my company, to maintain and improve our efficiency of manufacturing, as well as communicating with our customers. I work with our sales staff to help ensure a positive work environment and remind everyone we are a team, and that one department cannot succeed without the other.

I spend eight to ten hours at the office, and usually, you will find me solving manufacturing issues or customer needs, but I am continually working closely with our R&D Department, as well as communicating our needs to our vendors. The most critical and difficult decision I make every day is which customers project to work and develop new technologies for. I need to discern which are the most important as it needs to make sense financially, for that client, as well as new markets. The other significant call I need to make is based on selecting a vendor to ensure that there is no compromise on quality.

I believe that by having fun, being patient and respecting everyone, a business can be successful, and Adhesive Products Inc. is a good example, as we’ve been successfully doing that for over a hundred and forty years.

Although I am immensely proud of what we do, I have a great deal of respect for 3M as a business, because of their ability to consistently develop and successfully bring new products into the market over the years accompanied by top-notch marketing.

While my father played a crucial role in shaping my leadership style, I owe my success to diligence, perseverance, frugality, and strong support from my family. Despite all that I have achieved, the most gratifying moment for me was marrying my lovely wife of forty-six years!

When I am not at work, I enjoy bicycling, long-distance hiking, camping, and skiing. I also love to spend time with my labrador retriever up in the Mountains with my wife and family. I try and get some time on the slopes skiing every year, and when I am not trying to find time on my bicycle, my wife and I enjoy going to the theatre or spending time at the lake by our cabin.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my honesty, integrity, confidence, respect for others, and hard work with a good dose of play.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
